Statement
of Purpose |
|
| |
The Colville Tribal
Enterprise Corporation established the Native American Scholarship
fund to support Native Americans who are the most underrepresented ethnic minority group
in all fields of higher education. CTEC recognizes the pivotal
role that higher education plays in protecting, preserving, and
promoting the inherent rights and cultural interests of indigenous
peoples and tribes.
The goal of the scholarship fund is to
promote higher education in the Colville Tribal Native American
community. The purpose of the scholarship fund is to promote this goal
by providing financial assistance to deserving students in accordance
with the criteria and guidelines set forth in Parts IV and V of this
agreement.
To increase Colville Tribal higher
education opportunities for its members, the Native American
Scholarship Fund will aid Colville Indian students who are committed
to furthering the interests of the Colville Tribal Native American
community. Scholarships awarded from the fund will offer these students the opportunity to advance the visions of indigenous
people and tribes through service and advocacy.
